Chief Engineer

Are you a skilled Chief Engineer or Technical Superintendent looking for new growth opportunities or ready to transition from sea to shore.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing vessel maintenance, including the implementation and monitoring of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS). You will manage dry-docking and refit periods, coordinating with shipyards, subcontractors, and crew to ensure seamless operations. Providing technical support to onboard teams, you will troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues while maintaining regulatory compliance, assessing risks, and upholding high safety standards. Additionally, you will handle budgeting and cost control, ensuring expenses align with operational budgets, and deliver comprehensive reports tracking maintenance activities, performance, and overall technical status.

The ideal candidate is a Chief Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on technical expertise and a strong understanding of marine engineering, vessel systems, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in computer skills and software applications is essential, along with the ability to make independent decisions and solve complex technical challenges. We are looking for a proactive professional who can multitask in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with crew, shipyards, and management. Experience in Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) and managing refits or dry-dockings is highly valued. As this role involves frequent travel, flexibility is essential. Fluency in English is required (additional languages are a plus), and candidates must have the right to live and work in the EU.
