Luxury Yacht Management is an established service in other markets, but almost unknown in Bulgaria. How did you recognize the opportunity to build a similar business in the country?
In developed yacht markets, luxury yacht management has long been an established professional service that provides peace of mind, control, and a high level of service. In Bulgaria, however, a similar comprehensive approach was lacking.
In recent years, more and more Bulgarian clients have entered the segment of superyachts over 30 meters, and some are ordering brand new yachts. Proper management starts well before the yacht reaches the owner, because without independent quality control and long‑term planning, operational costs can rise substantially.
At the same time, the industry itself is becoming increasingly complex in terms of regulatory frameworks, technical standards, safety requirements, administrative processes, digitalization, crew coordination and technical support. In every direction, there is a need for serious organization, documentation and constant prevention.
For us, this was a clear indication that the sector required more than an additional service – it needed a premium management standard to bring together every element, from technical upkeep and daily operations to owner‑focused organization and personal care.
Sirius Maritime offers a service that currently has no analogue in Bulgaria. What does it include and what value does it create for the client?
We offer comprehensive integrated management that brings all processes together in one premium service. Our approach is proactive: we are actively involved in technical service and maintenance, crew recruitment and management, operational planning, financial and administrative management, safety management and full compliance with all regulations and requirements that accompany the yacht’s operations.

What are the most common challenges that yacht owners face when trying to manage all the processes surrounding the vessel themselves?
One of the biggest challenges of owning a luxury yacht is the complexity that remains invisible behind the experience. When owners shoulder this responsibility themselves, they inevitably become the operational managers of their own yacht – instead of enjoying the freedom that ownership was meant to offer.
On high‑end yachts, every detail carries weight. A single oversight can trigger unforeseen costs or delays, and even compromise safety, vessel readiness, and the overall quality of the journey and the onboard experience.
What standards from the international yacht industry do you apply in your work and how do you adapt them to the needs of Bulgarian clients?
We operate in alignment with the established standards and refined best practices of the international yachting industry, guided foremost by the large‑yacht codes that serve as dedicated equivalents to the core maritime conventions. Beyond following the protocols of leading flag administrations, we ensure these standards are meaningfully adapted and practically applicable for Bulgarian yacht owners. This carries particular importance in Bulgaria, where general rules for registration, safety, crewing, and operation are in place, yet a comprehensive regulatory structure comparable to that of the foremost yachting jurisdictions is still absent.

You work with clients for whom time is the most valuable resource. How does professional yacht management change their experience as owners?
Our role is to make every aspect appear seamless to the owner. Maintenance, crew, planning, documentation, voyage preparation, and all operational details stay behind the scenes, managed with quiet professionalism.
Thus, the yacht ceases to be an asset that requires constant attention, and becomes a space for freedom, personal time and pleasure. The owner can step on board at any moment, confident that every detail has already been arranged with precision.
In the luxury yacht management business, trust is the most valuable asset. How do you build trust?
Trust develops over time and the proof is in every detail. In our field, it starts with professionalism, transparency, and consistency, yet it is most deeply reinforced by how we act when a situation calls for quick, accountable decisions.
The owner entrusts not just a valuable asset, but a part of their personal space, their time, and their expectations for security and discretion. That is why clear communication, timely decisions, transparent costs, and the fulfillment of every commitment are fundamental to our approach.
Trust is also rooted in predictability. Owners must rest assured that if the issue concerns a technical matter, the crew, documentation, or preparation for sailing, a professional team stands behind them – one that knows the yacht intimately, anticipates risks, and acts decisively in their favor.
How is the luxury yacht market developing in the region and do you see a change in the profile and expectations of customers in recent years?
The market in the region is developing very dynamically. The Eastern Mediterranean is gradually establishing itself as one of the most attractive yachting destinations, and the proximity to markets such as Greece, Croatia, Turkey and Montenegro naturally influences the development of the yachting culture in Bulgaria.
There are already quite a few Bulgarian owners who choose to invest in new yachts ordered directly from established Italian shipbuilders. This is indicative of the development of the market, because with the acquisition of higher-class vessels, the requirements for their subsequent management, maintenance and service also increase.
The profile of the client is also changing. Today’s owner is more informed, more demanding and is looking for more than just a yacht, but a complete experience based on professionalism, discretion, transparency and quick response. The real luxury today is the time saved, the freedom and the feeling that everything is organised effortlessly – all in benefit of the owner.
When you look ahead, what is the next big goal for Sirius Maritime and how do you envision the development of the "Luxury Yacht Management" service in Bulgaria over the next few years?
We are confident that over the next few years, professional yacht management in Bulgaria will shift from a niche service to an expected standard among high‑end owners. With the increasing number and sophistication of yachts, the demands placed on their management will rise accordingly.
Our vision goes beyond the development of a single company. We believe that Bulgaria has the potential to build a modern and competitive yachting sector, and for the Bulgarian flag to become a recognizable and reliable choice in the international yachting industry.
